Gary Dean Betts' Obituary
Visitation for Gary D. Betts , 66, of Longview will be Tuesday, February 17th 5 to 8 PM at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Services will be 10 AM Friday, February 20th at the Delehanty Funeral Home Chapel in Loves Park, Illinois with Rev. Jerry Westholder officiating. Cremation will follow with the interment of cremains in the Sunset Memorial Gardens at Loves Park. Mr. Betts died Sunday, February 15th, at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1937 at Rockford, Illinois to Earl and Mildred Keyes Betts. A resident of Longview since 1981, Mr. Betts had retired as a cathodic protection specialist for Bass Engineering. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah L. and James Brown of Hallsville, Texas; his son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Minnette Betts of College Station, Texas; his son, Gary D. Betts, Jr. of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren: Sarah Brown McLauglin of Knoxville, Tennessee, Deana Betts of Longview, Texas, Joshua Betts of College Station, Texas; and sisters, Jacqueline Vettore of Loves Park, Illlinois and Sylvia Stieg of Banning, California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews which he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jacobs Betts and daughter, Louise Betts and by his father and brother, Earl A. Betts.
