Garth E. Dobbs' Obituary
Memorial services for Garth E. Dobbs, age 75 of Henderson, will be held Saturday December 21, 2013 at 10:00am in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Henderson. Visitation will follow the service. Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm Friday December 20, 2013 at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Pine Mills. Mr. Dobbs died Tuesday December 10, 2013 in Longview. Garth was born July 2, 1938 in Pine Mills to Dewitt and Leora Dobbs, He was retired from Texas Utilities, and a was member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson where he was a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Mattie Lou Harrell and a nephew Brandon Dobbs.
He is survived by his wife Muriel Harrell Dobbs of Henderson, son Kevin Dobbs and wife Melissa of Longview, daughter Karen Dobbs Vaughn of Henderson, granddaughters Valerie Vaughn of Baylor University in Waco, Caitlyn Dobbs of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Kelsey Dobbs of Longview, and Sarah Vaughn of Henderson, Brothers Kenneth Dobbs and wife June of Pine Mills, and Byron Dobbs and wife Pat of Terrell, sisters Wanda Williams and Husband Richard of Pine Mills, and Rita Ohara and husband Jim of Lees Summitt, MO.Brother-in-law Gerald Harrell and wife Carol of Hawkins.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Henderson Building Fund.
