Freddie Legrand Greer's Obituary
Funeral services for Freddie Legrand Greer, 80, of Hallsville, will be 2 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverend David Massey and Reverend John Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow in Hallsville Cemetery.
Mr. Greer was born September 25, 1922 in Wood County, Texas to
Dyess and Alice Greer. He was a lifelong resident of the Hallsville area, a member and Deacon of the Hallsville First Baptist Church, and was a maintenance supervisor for the Texas Eastman Company from where he retired after 26 years of service.
He had attended Hallsville schools, took classes at Kilgore College and attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. He also taught a Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Hallsville and served his country
in the United States Army during World War II.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM.
Pallbearers for Mr. Greer will be the Sunday School Class.
The family has asked that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mr. Greer is survived by his wife, Pauline Walls Greer of Hallsville;
sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Carroll and Sandra Greer of Rhode Island, David Allen and Debra Greer of Hallsville, TX; grandchildren, Wendy Greer Frances and Randy Greer of Rhode Island, Chelsey Greer and Spencer Greer;
brothers, Rudolph Greer, Finis Greer, Robert Greer, all of Harrison Co.; sister, Ruthdale Sandlen of Mesquite, TX; step grandchildren, Bud Perkins and of Hallsville; and three step great grandchildren.
Fred loved his family, friends and church.
