Freddie Kay Comer
Freddie Kay Comer of Longview met her Heavenly Father on May 21, 2012. She was born August 23, 1938 to Fred and Addie Smith in Odem, Texas. She married Joe Comer, the love of her life of 53 years, on November 6, 1958 and was blessed with 4 beautiful children whom she was so very proud of.
Freddie Kay worked for the county clerk in San Patricio County and later at Spring Hill School District. She was a devoted Wife, loving Mother and Granny. She loved bragging about her family and attending all of her children's and grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed traveling with her wonderful husband and friends. Along with being playful and mischievous, she enjoyed dabbling in new adventures such as golf, bowling, bunko, crochet, clogging and playing various musical instruments.
Freddie Kay is survived by her husband; son Chad Comer and wife Shannon of Burleson, daughter Cindy Blevins and husband Kim of Spring Hill, Daughter-In-Law Christi Comer of Spring Hill. Her 8 Grandchildren, Jeremy, Casey, Justin, Apryl, Sarah and Makayla Comer, Brittany and Zachary Blevins and wife Jeni. Great Grandchildren Riley Joe Atchley and Brayden Joe Comer. Brother Richard Smith and wife Shirley of Pearland, Texas. Sisters Lila Calhoun of Wimberley, Texas and Honey Babe Voges and husband Leonard of New Braunfels, Texas along with several nieces and nephews. Waiting with open arms in Heaven are her daughter Julie Kay and son Joey Comer.
Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, May 23 at Rader Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, May 24 at Spring Hill First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Wayne Spanhanks officiating followed by burial at Rosewood Park Cemetery.
The family of would like to extend a special thanks to all of the staff at Pine Tree Lodge Nursing Home as well as the caring doctors and nurses at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
Family would appreciate memorial donations in her loving memory to be made to Spring Hill First Baptist Church of Longview, Texas.
