So sorry to hear of his passing. Cindy Cavitt and I had the opportunity to visit Fred recently and got caught up on our families and what was going on in all our lives. He was very proud of his sons. He was a friend that will be missed, and I am so glad we got to see him while he was still with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.##imported-begin##Virginia Vick##imported-end##

I remember Fred as the first real friend I made at SFA in the fall of 1971. We met in Botany class and later became roomates at SFA. After SFA, we shared an apartment in Houston. Together with John Pate, Doug Muckelroy and Dwayne Emanis we had many fun times together. Fred was someone that I considered on my very short list of good friends. I know that he considered his two sons the most important part of his life and is extremely proud of both of them and their accomplishments. We visited by phone often and he enjoyed updating me on their growth in becoming young men. It has been my gain to have Fred as a friend and to have walked this far with him in my life. Fred, thank you for your friendship. I look forward to visiting with you again some day. Dave Wood##imported-begin##David Wood##imported-end##
