Fred T. Emmel Jr's Obituary
Fred T. Emmel, Jr, age 73, of Longview passed away peacefully at home September 17, 2017, days before his 74th birthday. He was born to Fred and Florence Emmel, October 1, 1943 in Longview and was the oldest of his four siblings.He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Emmel; brother,Jerry Emmel; sister, Martha Richardson; brother, Mike Emmel and brother, Steve Emmel.He is survived by his wife Necie Emmel; daughter Jennifer Emmel and her daughter Brittany; and daughter Ashley Dowdy and husband Michael, and their children, Olivia and Barrett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and beloved friends.
Fred was a contributing member to East Texas having owned a successful concrete construction company for 40 plus years. Over those years he has been an integral part of the growth and change in East Texas. As gifted as he was at his craft, chances are you have walked on some of his greatest works.In his spare time, he loved being outdoors hunting and fishing, as well as cooking but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. Fred was a loving husband, devoted father, an adoring grandfather and faithful friend.
Visitation is on Thursday, September 21,2017, from 5:30 to 8pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, TX. Funeral services will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 3pm also at Rader Funeral Home. Interment will follow services at Lakeview Cemetery in Longview. The family is encouraging donations to made to the East Texas Alzheimer's Alliance, PO Box 6011, Longview, TX 75608 in memory of Fred T. Emmel
