Fred Arrence Ahle
LONGVIEW – Funeral services for Fred Arrence Ahle, age 86, of Longview Texas will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 18, 2017 at First Lutheran Church in Longview. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Park Cemetery. Mr. Ahle passed away Monday surrounded by family. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Sunday September 17th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Fred was born September 6, 1931 in Malta, Ohio to the late Delbert Ahle and Dorothy Ahle Cole. He graduated from Gibsonburg High School in Gibsonburg, Ohio in 1949. Fred joined the United States Air Force in 1951. He married Eunice Stengal the love of his life in 1954 and started their lifetime together. She joined Fred in 1955 in Prestwick, Scotland while Fred was serving in the Air Force. After being discharged from the air force, Fred and Eunice went to Inglewood, California. Fred attended Northrop University where he got a B.S. degree in aeronautical engineering. After working 15 years in the aircraft industry, Fred and Eunice moved to Longview in 1974, where they established a Kwik-Kopy printing business. Fred was an active member of First Lutheran Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. He served on the board of directors of YMCA and the Longview Symphony League. He was also a member of the Longview downtown Lions Club. He was a great fan of sports and of the natural world, especially birds, mountains, waterfalls and the seas. He loved to play board games with his family and friends. Fred really enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandsons. Fishing was a passion of his. Fred was predeceased by his wife Eunice. He is survived by his children Steve Ahle of Longview, Ron Ahle and wife Angelia of Columbia, SC, Nancy Cooper and husband Robert of Kilgore, his grandchildren Allen, Micah, Justin, Daniel Clark and Austin Cooper, his brother Don of Gibsonburg, OH, his sister Donna and husband Ben Baughman of Shaumberg, IL and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our deep appreciation for the tender loving care given Fred by Heart to Heart Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be given to First Lutheran Church.
