Franklin D. Green's Obituary
Franklin D. Green, 69, of Pinehill, Tx., went to be with his Lord on May 5, 2009. He was born August 30, 1939 in Longbranch, Texas to William and Joy Green. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 3o years Yvonne Green; son, Todd Fleming, grandson, Jacob Howell; brothers, Bernice Green. Bill Green, and Ray Green; sisters, Moselle Colbert, Joy Moffett, and Virginia Smith.
Surviving is his loving wife Eloise Green of Pinehill;sons, Randall Peery and wife Dora of Cleveland, TX., Kenny Fleming and wife Debbie of Apple Springs, TX.; daughter
Ladonna Howell and husband Harry of Porter, TX., granddaughters, Elizabeth Percival and husband Greg of Houston, TX., Jessica Fleming of Groveton, Megan Larsen and husband Steven of Garrison, TX., and Gracie Brown and husband Mark of Apple Springs, TX.; grandsons, Randall Peery, II of Cleveland, TX., William Franklin Peery of Cleveland, TX. and Johnathan Howell and wife Jennifer of Porter, TX.great grandsons, Jacob and Kolt Larsen, Jake Fleming, and Nathan Percival;sisters, Helen Prewitt of Leesville, LA., Willie Ann McGough of Houston, TX., and Shirley Hall and husband James of Pinehill, TX., aunt, Ruby Cochran of Henderson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who loved him dearly.
Mr. Green was a veteran of the Korean War and worked as a machinist until starting at Brinks, Inc. in Houston where he worked and retired after 30 years.He retired back to Pinehill which he always called "God's Country". Where he enjoyed the love of a good woman Eloise who truly was a gift to him amd his family. She says " he was the sweetest man in the whole world". They were both blessed.He was a devoted husband, father and Poppa, whom his grandchildren cherished deeply.
He enjoyed fishing, bar-b-queing, listening to his favorite country music and going to family reunions. He was always the life of the party, always cracking jokes and making wise cracks. We were lucky to have him around us and thank God for the privilege. "Glory be to God"
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Rader Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Old Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sam Grantham, Casey Grantham, Terry Green, Mike Green, J.R. Prewitt, and Johnny Cochran.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM
