Frank Moren's Obituary
On the afternoon of February 4, 2016 Frank passed away at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, he was 87 years of age.
Frank was born in Dalhart, Texas as the first child of Lezora Roquemore and Frank R. Moren Sr.
When Frank was a young boy the family moved to Keller, Texas where he grew up and graduated from Keller High School. Following high school Frank joined the U.S. Merchant Marine and managed the feat of sailing around the world before turning 18. After his service in the Merchant Marine, which ended in 1947, he was employed by Globe Fire Protection up until he was drafted by the U.S. Army for the Korean War in 1950, where he was stationed at Fort Bliss. During this time he married Polly Buchanan, also of Keller, to which they had recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Once discharged from the Army, in 1952, Frank worked as a Sprinkler Fitter with Grinnell Fire Protection. Over the next 37 years he increased his managerial role, eventually retiring as the construction superintendent for Texas and Oklahoma in 1989. Because of his reputation and knowledge of the industry American Automatic Sprinkler hired him as a consultant out of retirement in 1990. After 4 years of service with American Automatic Frank entered full retirement.
Once in retirement Frank and Polly moved to Jefferson, Texas where he enjoyed attending local estate auctions and garage sales using his keen sense of resale value to find the unique items everyone else overlooked. Over time he amassed a large collection of antique clocks as well as eagle themed statues and relics of which he was very proud. This collection grew in size in conjunction with the numerous trips he enjoyed with Polly all over the world.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lezora Moren; his brother, Jerry L. Moren; his brothers-in-law, Jerry McCormick, Charles Buchanan, Larry Buchanan, and John Buchanan; his nephews, Brad McCormick and Mark Buchanan; and his niece, India Buchanan.
Frank is survived by his wife Polly Moren, of Marshall; his sons, Terry (Lynn) Moren, of Longview and Tim (Lisa) Moren, of Avinger; his sister Martha Ann McCormick, of Keller; his grandchildren, Andrea Moren, of Longview, Sam Moren, of Avinger, and Trevor Moren, of Washington, D.C.; his sisters-in-law, Maxine Moren, of Keller, and Pat Ann Buchanan, of Clifton; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
