Frank Hutchison's Obituary
Edward Franklin Hutchison (Frank), 79, of Longview, Texas, passed on peacefully Thursday August 13, 2020 at his home with his devoted wife of 57 years, Donna, at his ever present side. Services will be held at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 11AM. Visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park, Longview, Texas.
Frank was a man of deep and abiding faith, a Christian, who loved his church and family. He was a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Longview and had a servant’s heart. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to Lennafay McKinley and Lewis Woodard Hutchison. After graduating High School, he entered the United States Navy, serving his country for six years. After completing his service, he married Donna Wiley on July 21, 1963. Frank was a Millwright by trade, a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Frank knew and appreciated the value of a strong work ethic, ultimately retiring from Empire Detroit Steel in New Boston, Ohio and Lone Star Steel in Dangerfield, Texas. Retirement allowed more time for Frank to pursue his passions. He was immensely talented in restoring cars and tractors to their original glory. He was an amazing gardener and planted much more than was needed in order to share with the friends, families, and the community. His ability to see the beauty in the broken and cast away and the potential of tiny seeds to flourish is in many ways a reflection of his unwavering faith in the Lord to transform and renew.
Known as “Frank” to his many friends, his most cherished names were those of devoted husband, father, papa, and great grandpa. Frank is survived by his loving wife Donna Wiley Hutchison and four sons Frank Hutchison, Jr. (children Jessica and husband Harry Mahfood; Heather Hutchison and Dylan Hutchison) of Longview, Joseph Hutchison (children Brittney, Joseph Travis, and Joshua), Timothy and daughter-in-law Linnae Hutchison (children Alexandra, Hayden, and Noah) of College Station, Texas, and Jason Hutchison (children Jackie and Jason Henry “Hank”) of Longview. Frank is also survived by many great grandchildren as well as his sisters Mary Coody of Alabama and Martha Warner of Ohio and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lennafay Hutchison of Wheelersburg, Ohio and his sister, Betty Arthur of Arizona.
Frank will be deeply missed but the life lessons he taught, the faith life he walked, and the ethics he instilled, will live on through all those touched by his life.
Arrangements are entrusted to Radar Funeral Home, Longview, TX. An online guestbook may be signed www.raderfh.com.
