Francis Samuel Hamilton's Obituary
Frank Francis Samuel Hamilton, born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, April 6, 1927, passed into the presence of His blessed Lord On August 29, 2004.
Frank was a faithful committed husband, loving father, and friend to many in need. He was a long-time resident, Realtor, and homebuilder in Longview for over 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Hamilton, mother Elda Hamilton and sister Lila Hamilton.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernice Hamilton, and children: Mark Hamilton and his wife Gail Manvel, Texas, Scott Hamilton and wife Renee Longview, TX, and Susan Hamilton Guice and husband, Reed Biloxi, MS. Grandchildren are: Marshal Hamilton, Macy Hamilton, Mindy Hamilton and Mathis Hamilton of Longview, TX.; Andrew Hamilton and wife Christella, Ian Hamilton, and Ethan Hamilton of Manvel, TX; Angela Guice and Wade Guice of Biloxi, MS. He is also survived by a brother Phillip Hamilton of San Jose, CA, and sister Margaret VanTol of LaCrosse, WI.
Frank?s first love was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Since 1992, he was active at Mobberly Baptist Church where he participated in the POPS Choir, and was active in Open Door Sunday School Class and other evangelistic efforts. He was a founder of and long-time elder at Brookwood Bible Chapel. He was a founding Member, Director and past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Frontier Camp, a Christian Youth Camp in Grapeland, TX. He was a member of Christian Business Men?s Club, and was very active in the support of missionaries around the world, and a wide variety of local missions and youth work.
Active in the Civitan Club, past President of the Longview Board of Realtors, past President of the East Texas Builders Association, he was recognized as ?The Best Builder in East Texas? by the Longview News Journal.
He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the European theatre in the medical corps.
Visitation will held Monday evening at Rader Funeral Home from 6 ? 8 pm. The memorial service will be held at Mobberly Baptist Church Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Frontier Camp, Rt. 1 Box 138, Grapeland, TX 75844, where Frank spent much effort in support of this youth ministry.
