Francis Henry Deal's Obituary
Services for Mr. Francis H. Deal, 78, of Longview will be held Monday, August 26, 11 AM at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, with Reverend Herb Spady, Herdy Cupit and Mohan Jhass officiating. Interment will be at Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA. Mr. Deal died Saturday, August 24, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born April 11, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana and received B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech in 1949. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific from 1942-1945 as an Aviation Electrician, First Class and a part of CASU 14.
After the Navy, he worked as a an engineer for Shreveport Armature and Electric, General Electric, Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation, Mid-Valley Pipeline, Lyn McGuffey Company, Sun Pipe Line Company and as a self-employed consulting engineer.
He was a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, Louisiana Tech Alumni, and CASU 14 and a member of South Longview Bible Fellowship Church.
Fishing, football and his grandchildren were among his hobbies.
Mr. Deal was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Crain Deal.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tommy Barrow of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Bubba and Sherry Deal of Houston; grandchildren, Tom Barrow, Brian Barrow, Laura and Chris Thomason, Lindsey and Lauren Greenwald; brother, James Deal of Sibley, Louisiana; brother-in-law,
O. L. Crain of Shreveport, Louisiana; nieces and nephews, Mark Roberts, Rudy Crain, Jeff Crain, Diane Graham, Debra Edwards and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family request that memorials be made to South Longview Bible Fellowship, 1801 Mobberly Ave., Longview, Texas 75602 or Hospice Longview, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, Texas 75604.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7:30 PM Sunday.
