Frances M. Hughes' Obituary
Graveside services for Mrs. Frances M. Hughes will be held at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 2:00 PM. Frances Hughes passed away on December 11, 2021, in Hughes Springs, Texas.
Frances Hughes was born in Gilmer, TX on March 8, 1934, to parents Archie and Suzie Smith. Frances learned multiple skills from her parents but had gained a great amount of skill in crochet and needlepoint from her time with her mother. This led to a career of over 40 years with her sister starting with Toddle Town in Daingerfield and eventually retiring from Stitches and Stuff in Longview.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband James R. Hughes Sr., and grandson Kevin Hughes. Those left to cherish their memories of Frances include her sons James R. Hughes Jr. and his wife Deborah, and David Hughes with his wife Donna; grandchildren Tiffany Falgout and her husband Steve, Chad Bearden and his wife Valentina, Kelly Belk and her husband Charlie, Chris Hughes and his wife Autumn, Brian Scott Hughes and his wife Lindsey, Wendy Hughes Gay and her husband Randy, Brian David Hughes and his wife Robin, and Shelbi Hughes Joy and her husband Chris; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; siblings Jim Fred Smith and his wife Carolyn, Sue Childress and her husband Robert, Virginia Rainey and her husband Jerry. Frances will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
