Frances Dry Boyd's Obituary
Frances Eleanor Dry Boyd died September 9, 2018 at home following a short illness and a long fulfilling life.
Frances was born October 25, 1930 in Jacksonville, Texas to James Carrol and Mattie Belle (Bush) Dry and was welcomed into the family by big sister, Kathryn Jane, who was her only sibling.
Marshall Texas became home to the Dry family in the early 1930’s and Frances attended Marshall Schools from 1st grade until graduating in 1948; afterward attending East Texas Baptist College. Her High School friends were very special to Frances, lasting through the years- Flo, Elaine, Glo; and until her death.
In Junior High School, Frances met the love of her life, Edward Hall Boyd Jr. They were married Feb 1st 1953 in the First Methodist Church in Marshall and their family grew over the next few years.
As a military family (US Air Force) the Boyds enjoyed living in San Antonio, Nebraska and Alaska. Edward also served in Korea and Vietnam.
Mrs. Frances Boyd worked in Secretarial and accounting fields and after moving to Longview in 1976, She was employed by Longview Home Center Wellman Industries and Industrial Steel Warehouse. She retired in 1995.
Mrs. Frances Boyd was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1987; daughter Rebecca Jane Wilson in 2008; her parents; her sister and brother-in-law Jane and Ok Ausmus and their son Danny Ausmus; and her dear cousin Ethel Lewis Benedict.
Survivors are children; Holly Horton, Casey Boyd and Victoria Jurenka, Dean Vernon Hicks; grandchildren Ashley, Whitney, Jesse Scott Boyd, Kristin Boyd, Kaitlin, Laurin, Madalin, Jacob Lee, Nicolas Lee, and Louis Lee; 3 great-grandchildren; Chris Ausmus, Judy Ausmus, Martha Whittaker, Crystal Ausmus. Special friends include Clay Jurenka, Joey Starr, Brenda Stone, Sally Bommarito and her children Jennifer, John, Janie, Judi; Kelly Muse and Bailey, and Kelly O’Griffin who were all much loved and appreciated in the final years of her life.
