Foncie Marie Sullivan
Funeral services for Foncie Marie Sullivan, 91, of Longview will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Woodland Hills Baptist Church, Longview with the Reverend Charles Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She passed away Friday, July 23, in Longview.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sullivan was born September 24, 1918 in Lydia, TX to Lige and Eleanor Reeves Allen. She married her husband, Alvis "Shorty" Sullivan on September 28, 1938, in Miller County, Arkansas, and moved from Dalby Springs, Texas to Longview in 1950. She was a homemaker and a very active member of the Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Sullivan was a staunch Republican and a big supporter of the Bush Administration. She loved God, her family and friends, and she always enjoyed helping others.
Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Ricky Sullivan, Lisa Thomas, Christina Wells, Sam Sullivan, Rusty Petty and Shana Nichols; 12 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sue Sullivan; sister-in-law, Pat Allen; chosen daughter, Helen Skinner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Alvis; sons, Boyce and Charles Sullivan; granddaughter, Zonna Sullivan; sisters, Lonie Stevens, Dolly Wages, Flonie Smith, Callie Logan and Estelle Blalock; and her brothers, John and Pete Allen.
