Dearest Purdy family;
I wish to extend to you my condolences for the passing of your mother. I don't know if you will remember me or not. We were the Clause family who lived across the street from you on Dewey St. My sister Virginia and I are the only ones left in our family. I am Frances Clause Harriman. Nancy and I are the same age. I read your mother's obituary in the Orange Leader. I just loved Ms. Purdy. She was such a beautiful lady.
Many times growing up I would go to your house to see Nancy, and if she wasn't home, Ms. Purdy, no matter what she was doing, would stop and sit down and talk with me. She would treat me with kindness and respect, not just a pesky preteen or teenager. She, I am sure, left a positive imprint on the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. I am sure she will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
Sincerely,
Frances Clause Harriman##imported-begin##Frances Clause Harriman##imported-end##
