Flora Roman Kirksey's Obituary
Funeral services for Flora Roman Kirksey, 101, of Henderson will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Rader Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Fulton officiating .Burial will follow at Crims Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Kirksey died Monday, January 31, 2011 at ETMC-Henderson.
She was born March 3, 1909 in Kaufman County, Texas and been a resident of Rusk County since 1932. She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church, the Rusk County Historical Commission and the Rusk County Heritage Association. She was a member and past president of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Curtis Roman in 1952 and Chester Kirksey in 1992; son, James Roman in 1974; grandson Byron Roman in 1992; and a sister, Mary Weiss.
Surviving are grandsons, Russell Roman and Larry Roman; granddaughters, Brenda Compaan of North Dakota and Carol Fischer of South Dakota; seven great grandchildren; brother, Barney Brasher of Houston; sister, Irene Whitworth of Grand Saline.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home
