Flora Odell Phillips' Obituary
Mrs. Thomas W. Phillips, 80, of Richmond, Texas, formerly of Longview passed away Friday, August 8, 2003 in a Houston hospital.
A Longview native, the former Odel Baker was born on October 13, 1922 and was a 1940 graduate of Longview High School. Odel was the daughter of the late Marion Baker and Jewel Taylor Baker, residents of Longview.
On November 9, 2000, Odel and Tom observed their 60th wedding anniversary. On their 50th wedding anniversary they were honored with an open house at their home in Richmond.
Odel was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Gilbert Baker, Emmett Baker, M/Sgt. Ret. Warren D. Baker.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Thomas W. Phillips; son,
Thomas W. Phillips, III Phil and wife Caree A. Phillips of Houston
and one grandson, Jeffery Phillips of Austin, Texas; brothers, John C. Baker of Longview and Lynnell C. Baker of Diana. Also surviving are 8 nieces, 8 nephews, 13 great nieces, 3 great nephews, 3 great, great nieces and 1 great, great nephew.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday, August 11, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. with Reverend Kenneth Mills officiating and interment will follow in Summerfield
Cemetery.
