Fletcher Ozell Wolfe's Obituary
Services were held at Rosewood Park on August 10, 2004 for Fletcher Ozell Wolfe. He was 87 when he passed away on August 6.
Fletcher Wolfe was born July 10, 1917 in Mullin, Mills County, Texas. He attended school in Madsion County, Texas, graduating in 1935 from Madsionville High School. Fletcher attended Howard Payne College for two years.
In 1937 he was employed by Western Union Telegraph Company as bicycle messenger in Brownwood, Texas and took Morse Code, automatic teleprinter operators and managerial training in that local office. His first assignment was in 1940 at Greenvile, Texas as an operator. He served as manager at ALice, Greenville, Bastrop, Edinburg, Marshall, and moved to Longview in 1951 where he retired after 37 years of Western Union Service.
He was a member of the John Wesley Class and Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church.
He was married February 5, 1939 to Frances Goddard. He and his wife moced to Plano to live with their daughter and son-in-law in Novemeber of 2000. Survivors include: his wife of Plano; daughter Paula Sue Gilligan and her husband James of Plano; grandsons, Jason Harmon and his wife, Michelle, of Richardson and David Gilligan of Plano; granddaughter Tammy Clanton and her husband, Devin, of Sachse; great-grandson Jacob Clanton of Sachse; sister, Charlotte Sutton of San Augustine; brothers Johnny Wolfe of Freindswood and Morris Wolfe of Duncanville; and a number of nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Alma Wolfe; brother Aubrey, Otha Lee, and Clifford; sister, Juanita
