Finis Lamar Greer
Finis Lamar Greer went to join his Father in Heaven on Monday, September 11, 2017 at his home in Longview, TX. He passed into eternity surrounded by his loving family.
Finis was born on April 19, 1933 in Hallsville, TX. He attended Hallsville School, then married his sweetheart, Doris Ann Hickey on July 17, 1954. Finis served in the Army from 1955-1957, and was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church for 53 years before joining Caney Creek Baptist Church in Kilgore, TX. Mr. Greer was on the construction crew that built the Texas Eastman Plant, and continued to work for Eastman for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed fishing, playing 42, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, and gardening, nurturing and nourishing his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Green Dyess Greer and Addie Alice Berryhill Greer, his 14 older siblings, and one grandson, Joey Knapps. He is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Greer of Longview, TX; his six children, Tricia Greer and husband, Steve Crawley, of Sedona, AZ; Diana Greer of Longview, TX; Teresa Conner and husband, Jim Conner, of Henderson TX; Deborah Gilbert and husband, David Gilbert, of Longview, TX; Bruce Greer and wife, Kim Greer, of Dallas, TX; and Suzanne Tidmore and husband, Tim Tidmore, of Longview, TX. Mr. Greer had 18 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017, at Forest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
