Graveside services for Faylene B. Mackey, 88 of Hallsville, will be held at Hallsville Cemetery at 10am Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Faylene passed away peacefully Monday, February 1, 2016.
Faylene was born in Hallsville, TX on March 26, 1927 to loving parents Alex and Allie Busby. She was of the Baptist faith. Faylene graduated from Hallsville High School. She worked in the restaurant business as well as her own café in Hallsville for 40 years or more. She loved being outdoors tending to her gardens and farm animals.
Faylene had a big heart for any stray animals that needed a home and always enjoyed helping people in her community. Her greatest pleasure was hunting and fishing.
Faylene was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Mackey, her parents Alex and Allie, brother Richard Busby, and daughter Diane Summers.
Those left to cherish their memories of Faylene include her sons, Michael Summers and his wife Michele of Hughes Springs, TX, Randy Summers and his wife Elizabeth of Hallsville TX, daughter Sherry Britt and husband Kenneth Sr. of Hallsville TX, sister Aylene of Hawkins TX, 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
