Faye Weaver's Obituary
Iva Faye Weaver, age 93 of Henderson, TX passed from this life into the presence of her Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at her home. She was born on March 15, 1933 and was the fourth youngest of 13 children. She spent most of her early years at the Sunny Glen Children’s Home in Harlingen, TX. Her mother died giving birth to the 13th child and her dad could not take care of all of the children by himself. Therefore, the youngest children were placed in the children’s home. The Sunny Glen is organized and supported by Church of Christ churches. This is where she learned her biblical principles. The local Church of Christ is where she chose to worship. She enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger. This characteristic helped her in her waitressing profession. One of her favorite things to do was to give to others who she believed had a need. When she was able, she loved to invite all of her family over for Sunday afternoon dinner. A specialty of hers was pinto beans, Spanish rice, and tacos. And, we can’t forget the ice cream, brownies, and cake after the meal.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her children, and especially her grandchildren, called her Memaw. Even though her first name was Iva, her friends and coworkers called her Faye.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Leon Weaver, a son Kenneth Roney, a son-in-law Robert Rhea, a daughter Laura Gossett, her parents Edgar and Laura Frances Dunagin Rodgers, 6 brothers Artie Lee, Clarence, Kenneth, Harold, Olan and Jimmy Wade Rodgers, and 6 sisters Maybell Staneart, Irene Parker, Ola Mae Owens, Jeanette Hammond, Jo Ann Hutcherson, and Helen Jo Rodgers.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Suzy Roney of Kansas City, daughter Debbie Rhea of Trinity, TX, son James Roney (wife Cathy) of Overton, TX, son-in-law Howard Gossett of Henderson, TX, and daughter LaDonna Fress of Henderson, TX, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A private graveside service for Mrs. Weaver will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM at New Prospect Cemetery off of Highway 43 under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson, Texas.
She will lie in state at the Rader Funeral Home at 800 Kilgore Dr. (Highway 259 N.) Henderson, TX 75652 on Monday 7-20-26 during regular business hours of 8:30 AM until 5 PM.
