Farris Stanford
Services for Farris Stanford , 80, of Longview will be 10 AM Friday at Lakeview Mausoleum with Rev. James Craddock officiating. Burial, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Stanford died Tuesday morning in Longview.
Farris was born April 8, 1926 at Mineola, Texas to Addie and Anna Shaw Stanford. He had resided in Longview since 1950 and was a self-employed plumber, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Bluegrass gospel music was Farris? favorite pastime. He loved playing his fiddle at the Music Barn on Friday and Monday nights. He also loved animals and gardening and he was a fabulous cook.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Lace ?Lacy? Craddock and Jim; grandsons, Anthony Farris Craddock of New York City and Andrew Craddock of Longview; great granddaughter, Kara Lynn Craddock of Longview; brothers, Carl Stanford of Mineola, Texas and Jimmy Stanford of Mississippi; sister, Bertie Mae Minatrea of Mineola, Texas; sisters-in-law, Edith Welch, Claudette Stairs, and Alice Dryden; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois in 1973.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Thursday evening 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
