Evelyn (Merlene) Hollomon's Obituary
Evelyn (Merlene) Hollomon was born October 16, 1931 in Idabel, Oklahoma, McCurtain County. She attended the Idabel school system growing up. The family moved to Kennewick, Washington State in 1948. She met and married James Dallas Hollomon there. After following work around the country for several years they settled down in 1955 in Longview to raise the family. Longview became the home base for the family from both sides. She attended Mobberly and Eden Drive Church of Christ. She worked for J.C. Penny’s from 1969 to 2001 until she retired.
Merlene’s husband James “Dallas” Hollomon, parents Taft Virgil and Cora Edna Wake all precede her in passing.
Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings Wyota Nell and James Earl, her children James Richard Hollomon, Ronald Dale Hollomon and Cathy Robyn Nunley, Grandchildren Ashley Kayann, Rebekah Ann, Richard Grayson, Dustin Dallas, James Michael and Louis John, her great-grandchildren kayden Wade, Kyler Blaine, Dallas Christian, Robyn Alisabeth and Evalynne LaVonne. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family. Merlene is loved and will be sorely missed by all.
Funeral services will be 2 pm, Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview with interment to follow at Memory Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the funeral home from 6pm-8pm.
