Evelyn ?Dollbaby? Courtney
Evelyn Courtney, affectionately named ?Dollbaby? by her grandchildren, age 90, of Longview passed away on September 25, 2005, in her home. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at Rose Heights Church, 1500 West Hawkins Parkway. The Reverends Dale Turner, Lynn Hildreth and David Benson will be officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, Tuesday, September 27, 2005 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
She was born February 14, 1915 a Valentine Sweetheart, in Dallas, Texas to Della Mae and Jim Ragnal Wilson. Her growing up years were spent in Breckenridge, Texas, with five brothers and two sisters.
Evelyn married October 7, 1935, to Jake Courtney who passed away February 7, 2002. They moved to Longview and had three daughters. She was a retired nurse and a very active charter member of Rose Heights Church. She was very much loved by her family, friends and patients.
She is survived by her three daughters and spouses, Judy Johns, Sandra and Bill Gilmore, all of Longview, Brenda and Chuck Cypert of Plano; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Donde and Rex Womack, Pam and Todd Hinch, Kyle Johns, Rob and Julie Alston, Rene? and David Allen, Melanie and Doug Rankin, Christy and Mark Becker, and Steve Cypert. She had thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Courtney and Annie B. Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kyle Johns, Rob Alston, Rex Womack, Todd Hinch, Doug Rankin, David Allen and Mark Becker.
