Services for Evelyn Bailey Black, 84, of Longview will be held at Two O?Clock P.M. Monday October 22, 2001 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel 1617 Judson Road with Dr. Laney Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery. She died Friday October 19,2001 in Longview.
She was born October 17, 1917 in Smithland, Texas and had lived in Longview the past Twenty-Six years. She was a graduate of East Texas State University in Commerce.
She was a retired Junior High English teacher with the Dallas Independent School District. She was a member of the Mobberly Baptist Church. She married Samuel Black, Jr. On October 8, 1938 in Commerce, Texas and he survives her, other survivors include, one Son William Marvin Black of Medford, New York; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Nancy and Dail Stiles of Little Rock, Arkansas; Anna Margaret and Barry Knoedl of Long Island, New York; five grandchildren, Krista Williamson, Jennifer Williamson, Gregory Williamson, Lindsay Williamson and Erin Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents Bedford Forest and Elizabeth Bailey and one Sister Pauline Rhinefort
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday October 21, 2001 from 4pm until 6 PM.
The family request memorial contributions be made to Mobberly Baptist Church, Humane Society or the Salvation Army.
