Eva Jamieson Mock's Obituary
Eva was born February 4, 1931, in Graham, Oklahoma to John and Edith Newberry. She passed away in Longview, Texas on July 5, 2022. Eva attended school at Judson and Kilgore, graduating from Kilgore High School. She married Jack Jamieson in 1948 and resided in Kilgore, Texas. They later moved to Longview, Texas in 1958.
Eva worked as a secretary to the pastor at Oakland Heights Baptist Church where she and Jack attended and were very active in many areas. She was offered a job at Longview Bank and Trust in the 1970s as an administrative assistant. She also worked at other banks and retired from Team Bank in 1993 after a long banking career.
After Jack passed away in 1991, she met and married Earl Mock in 1995. Earl was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church, where Eva joined him. They were active members of Mobberly where they served in many ministries.
Eva was lovingly called “Nana” by her granddaughters, great-grandchildren and many of their friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Jack Jamieson and her husband Earl Mock, her son Timothy Jamieson, son-in-law Ron Doss, her sisters, Lea Rushing and Johnnie Williams, her brother Warren Newberry and her parents.
She is survived by daughter Jacque Jamieson Doss, daughter-in-law Lisa Jamieson, grandchildren Jennifer Sides (Joshua), Julie Headrick, Lauren Jamieson, Alicia Vogel and Samantha Read (Andrew) and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Bertha Thompson.
Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Monday, July 11 from 6-8 PM. The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Rev. Greg Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park.
