Eunice Whatley Jordan's Obituary
Funeral services for Eunice Whatley Jordan, age 81 of Henderson, will be held Thursday June 7, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Whatley, and Rev. Jan McGowan officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens.
Eunice died on June 5, 2012 in local nursing home after a long illness.
Eunice was born on August 11, 1930 in Cass County to Lex and Florence Whatley Sr. She attended and graduated from Kildare High School. On December 7, 1946 Eunice married Lewis Jordan in Atlanta, Texas. She worked alongside her husband in the plumbing business until his death March 4, 1979. Eunice was a loving, joyful person that lived her life to glorify God and serve others. She had the gifts of hospitality and giving, always blessing others with her words, actions, and gifts. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, memorizing trivia facts, and spending time with those she loved.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis Jordan, brothers Woodrow, Carson, O.B., and Lex Jr.; sisters Louise Shelton, and Avanell Clark.
She is survived by her son Larry Jordan of Henderson and his children Chase and Alicia, and daughter Jeanne Johnson and husband Roland of Kilgore and their children Brian Christopher and Colin. Also surviving is her younger brother Glen Moore Whatley and wife Audrey of Lodi, and their sons Boyce, Brian, and Brandon Whatley, beloved nephews to Eunice, as well as other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Boyce Whatley, Brandon Whatley, Caleb Whatley, Josiah Whatley, Joshua Whatley, and Christopher Duck. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Jordan and Brad Anderson.
Visitation will be from 12noon until service time Thursday.
