Eunice Barrow
Eunice Barrow went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2005. She was born Eunice Edna Smith, on September 7, 1914 in Erin, Jasper County, Texas. She was one of five sisters and one brother. She married William Clarence Barrow December 24, 1933, and they moved to Longview in 1936. Clarence preceded her in death May 18, 1997.
Clarence and Eunice joined first Baptist Church in 1937 and were both lifelong members. Eunice served many years as Sunday school teacher, director, choir member, and church receptionist and secretary. Her love of music was reflected in her special regard and participation in the church choir and the Longview Symphony.
In community service, Eunice served as a member and President of the Zonta Club and the Woman?s Forum of Longview. She especially adored her three grandchildren: Tom, Laura and Brian. It was a great delight to her to see her first great-grandchild, Kate. Her love for church, music, family and friends will be cherished forever.
Survivors include one son, Thomas David Barrow and wife, Linda of Longview; three grandchildren, Thomas David Barrow, Jr. of Dallas, Laura Lee Thomason, and her husband, Christopher Thomason of Dallas, Brian Daniel Barrow of Austin; one great-grandchild, Kathryn Lee Thomason; special niece, Mary Singleton of LaRue, TX and several more nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First Baptist Church, 209 E. South Street, Longview, TX 75601 or the charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Longview with Pastor Tim Watson and Reverend Dewayne Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
