Gene was a kind hearted, selfless brother. I remember how he devoted himself with a commitment to construct a new home for our mother and me. In looking back now, I am amazed with feelings of gratitude that he sacrificed his time, with countless hours and a great deal of talent, to be able to complete this tremendous task to provide a nice home for mother to enjoy, and for me to be blessed with while growing up in my teen years. He truly was a brother that I am grateful to have spent time with and will always remember how close we became while he was giving a part of himself that only a person with a big heart and a great deal of love was able to offer.
