Eugene Grant Bishop's Obituary
Longview - Eugene Bishop, 77 of Longview, TX, entered into eternal rest on March 3, 2017 in Longview, TX, surrounded by his wife and four children. He was born August 12, 1939 to Bernard and M. Virginia Bishop in Lockport, NY.Gene married the love of his life Nancy (Chapman) Bishop on June 22, 1957 after meeting at the Palace Theater in Lockport where they both worked.Gene retired from Harrison Radiator in Lockport in August 1989 and moved to Longview, TX after retiring. Gene was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing on various lakes in East Texas during retirement. He and Nancy also spent time traveling and camping. He was a member of the Wright’s Corner’s Volunteer Fireman Exempts in NY.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Nancy Bishop of Longview, TX; sister Sheila Bishop Marzo of Syracuse, NY; son and daughter-in-law Jeff & Lorraine Bishop of Tonawanda, NY; daughter and son-in-law Terri & Norm Eaton of Lockport, NY; son and daughter-in-law Mike & Amelia Bishop of Longview, TX; and daughter and son-in-law Beth and Gary DeLuca of Tonawanda, NY. Gene is also survived by eight grandchildren; Dr. Molly Eaton; Stacey Philbrick; Scott Eaton, Jeremy Bishop; Matthew Weir; Patrick Weir; Jacob Bishop; & Mary Wood. Gene is also survived by four great grandchildren Bailee; Shelby; Laynie, & Mylie along with several nieces and nephews; and his fur baby Lucy.He was proceeded in death by his parents Bernard & Virginia Bishop; brother Benjamin Bishop; sister Barbara Bishop Porter; and grandson Brian Bishop.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
