Dr. Broome was my advisor, and teacher from 1967-1971. She steered me through a BS and MS in Textiles. I went to see her in 2005 when I came from Germany for TWU reunion. I was a secretary in the Fashon and Textiles Dept. at TWU when Dr. Broome was there doing textile research and teaching classes. She was so energetic and dedicated to her work. We of both Peters Colony Chapter DRT and Benjamin Lyon Chapter DAR are sad to hear of Esther's death. She was an amazing person whose contributions to our ogranizations were valued by all of us.

I had no idea your mother lived in Longview. I was at the Textile Research Center at Tech for 13 years and worked closely with her on several natural fibers projects. I will always remember picking her up at the airport the first time we met...she was a special guest and speaker for the opening of our new finishing plant. Her research in blends made life much easier for all women.
