Graveside services for Ernestine Amos, 87, of Longview will be held at Ten O'clock AM Tuesday October 5, 2010 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Robert Johnson officiating. Mrs. Amos passed away Saturday October 2, 2010 in Longview.
She was born July 20, 1923 in Union Grove , Texas. And had lived in Longview area her entire life. She was a member of the Longview Church of Christ.
She was a longtime Volunteer at City Hall and Good Shepherd Medical Center and she was also an avid Bridge Player. She was also a member of the Longview Policeman's Wives Club
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Amos and wife Betty of Prairieville, Louisiana; Jim Amos and wife Lenora of Longview, sister, Marlene Bolton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Amy Allen and husband Mike of Longview; Kyle Amos of Longview; Angela Jones of Longview; Alan Amos of Longview; James Brian Moore and wife Jerri of Austin; Kacey Gloria-Moore and husband Anthony of Austin; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband N.L. Amos and a daughter Marilyn Moore.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday October 4, 2010 from 6-7:30 pm.
