Ernest E. Freeman's Obituary
Services to celebrate the life of Ernest E. Freeman, 85, of Longview, will be 2 PM Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at the Greggton United Methodist Church, 1101 Pine Tree Road, Longview, with Reverend Emmitt Barrow,
Dr. Lynne Settlemyre and Reverend Mark McClanhan officiating.
Rader Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Interment will follow in at Rosewood Park Cemetery.
Ernest was born in Sour Lake, Texas on August 10, 1917
to Evan and Eula Freeman. Mr. Freeman worked in the Maintenance Department of Sun Oil Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Greggton
United Methodist Church and served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Ernest was very active in his church. He was instrumental
in organizing the Methodist Men's Prayer Breakfast and was very faithful in visiting friends and fellow church members when they were ill at home or in the hospital .
Mr. Freeman loved his friends and family and was dearly loved by them. He was an inspiration to anyone he met.
Ernest is survived by his wife and companion, Jewell;
daughter and son-in-law, Janis and John Holland of Brownwood,
TX, granddaughter and husband, Mendi and Jonathan Jones
of Gilmer, TX; grandson , Derrick Wilson of Austin, TX; sister,
Ruth Caffery of Delhi, LA; brother, E. J. Freeman of
Mont Belvieu, TX; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carmel and Delno Brown of Wimberley, TX; and other loving family members and a host of friends who loved him.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday
evening, May 5, from 6 until 8 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greggton United
Methodist Church.
