Ernest V. Bunata's Obituary
Funeral services for Ernest V. Bunata will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the First Methodist Church of Longview at 11:30 am. There will be a visitation at the First Methodist Church the hour prior to the funeral. Mr. Bunata’s spirit was received peacefully into the arms of the Lord in the late morning of January 4, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Ernest Bunata was born on March 31, 1932 in Waco TX to parents Ernest V. Bunata Sr. and his wife, Esther Bunata. He served his Country faithfully in the Army during the Korean War. Upon his return to the United States he married his love Dell in February of 1955. Following their marriage they both moved to Longview so that Mr. Bunata could attend and later graduate from LeTourneau University with a Bachelor in Engineering and was soon hired as the first Engineer at StemCo. He was also an active with a Model A club where he was always happy to put his engineering mind to restoring a classic Model A and to help anyone fix anything
Ernest had a personal relationship with Christ, and was proud to be a charter member of the Waddell Sunday School Class at FMC of Longview where he also ushered for numerous years. Upon his retirement Mr. Bunata found that his most enjoyable job was as a baby sitter to his precious granddaughter, Britni. Beyond everything, Ernest Bunata was always a wonderful husband; father; grandfather, and great-grandfather to the family that he loved with all his heart.
Ernest was preceded in death by his Parents, Ernest Sr. and Esther Bunata. Those left to cherish their memories of Mr. Bunata include his wife, Adeline Bunata; son, Chip Bunata and his wife Marylou; Kristin Wolf and her husband Lance; Meredith Byrnes and her husband Kevin; Tyler Byrnes and Marissa Byrnes; daughter, Holly Whittington; Britni Brandt and her husband David; son, David John Bunata; sister Ellyn Bunata; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
