Era Mae Pratt's Obituary
Era Mae Connor Pratt, of Longview, born April 8, 1918 in Avinger, TX passed away January 4, 2005 in Rockwall, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fred Allen Pratt, her father and mother, R. C. and Era Mae Connor and two brothers, R. C. Connor and Paul Connor. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Patsy Pratt, Randy and Julie Pratt, all of Rockwall; her brother, Howard Connor of San Antonio and sister-in-law, Ermentru Jenkins of Hughes Springs, five grandchildren: Jason Connor Pratt and wife, Kaylea of Austin, Jennifer Skinner and husband, Steve of South Riding, VA, Jill Davenport and husband, Dan of Dallas, Tomi Brizendine and husband, Tim of Wylie and Brittany Pratt of Rockwall. She is also survived by five great grandchildren: Joe, Kyle, and Drew Skinner, Abby and Daniel Davenport and several nieces and nephews.
Mae grew up in Avinger and married Fred Allen Pratt on June 2, 1937. They moved to Longview in 1949 where she worked for Sears for 21 years. She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she served as President of the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Longview Women?s Forum and the Sears Retirement Club. She loved to visit friends and family, exercise, play the piano, line dance, travel, and play dominos.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, Friday, January 7, 2005 from 5 until 7 PM.
Services will be Twelve O?clock Noon Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Lundsburg officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Memory Park.
