Funeral services for Ephram Elven ?Pete? Black, 83, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverends A. D. Spears and Charles Chargois officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Black passed away Sunday, September 4, in a Shreveport hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Black was born August 2, 1922 in Centerville, Arkansas to Manuel and Bertha Black. He had been a resident of Longview since 1971, moving from Hot Springs. He was a retired self employed carpenter and a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church and the Disables American Veterans.
Mr. Black was preceded in death by his wife Frances Black in February 2005, and daughters, Peggy Black and Patsy Kern, and son Gary Black.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey and Diana Black, Roger and Marilyn Black and Randy and Glenda Black all of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, David and Pansy Black of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Lori Deitrich, Beth Satterfield, Chris Black, Kimberly Prince, Kristy Black, Brad Black and Amanda Black; great grandchildren, Jessica Deitrich, Matthew, Ethan and Rebecca Satterfield, and Hunter Prince.
