Edna ?Peggy? Denney
Edna ?Peggy? Denney, 76, died on Monday, April 17, 2006 in Longview, Texas. Peggy was born in Herrington, KS on October 9, 1929 to Frederick and Alvina Pagenkopf. She graduated from Herrington High School in 1947 and then attended Wichita State University. On May 28, 1950, she married Guy Wilton Denney. She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. Church was very important to her. She was active in the women?s groups and always sang in the choir. Peggy and her husband lived most of their lives in Herington, Kansas and Irving, Texas. In May of 2003, they moved to Longview, Texas where she resided until her death. Peggy?s greatest enjoyment was taking care of her home and family, and later in life, traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Guy Denney, of Longview, Texas; daughter, Kathryn Cherry and husband Mike of Marshall, Texas; daughter, Janet Sherer and husband Stephen of Manson, Iowa; son, John Denney, of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren: Ian, Aaron, and Jamie Cherry; Joshua, Katharine, and Meghan Sherer, and Carson Lee; one great grand-child, Kurin Cherry. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Danitschek, of Omaha, NB. She was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Good Shep-herd Lutheran Church, 1007 E. Pinecrest, in Marshall, with the Pastor Sandra Niiler officiating. Burial will follow in Colonial Gardens in Marshall under the direc-tion of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, April 21, 2006 at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road.
