Emil J. Mach's Obituary
Our much-loved husband, Dad, grandpa, and great grandpa, Emil Joseph Mach, went to his Heavenly home after peacefully passing away on October 1, 2025 at age 90. He was born to Frank and Anna Mach in Alice, Texas on November 6, 1934.
Emil was loved greatly by all his family: parents; 10 older brothers and sisters, loving and devoted wife Elizabeth (Betty) who he happily married on November 26, 1955 and they had a wonderful 69 years together; children Sharon, Mike, and Jeff (wife Tammy); grandchildren Emily (husband Clint), Stephen (wife Ashley), and Lindsey; and all his great grandchildren: Aiden, Brooklynn, Justice, Loralei, Jayden, Kensey, and Harley.
Emil was a devoted husband and a hard-working protective family man. He worked 60 years without missing a day of work, attended mass faithfully, and made many sacrifices to support his family. Part of his legacy is that he instilled these values of faith and hard work to his family.
Emil’s family has extremely fond memories and loved spending time with their devoted and caring head of the family. Emil and Betty loved to go square and round dancing together and enjoyed travelling together especially vacations to Hawaii, Branson, Las Vegas, and Alaska with their friends. His children have wonderful memories of family outings to Six Flags, the zoo, and picnics at Tyler State Park as well as family vacations to South Padre, Gatlinburg, Chattanooga, and Hawaii. His children and grandchildren loved that he always brought them to many football games and attended their baseball, basketball, and volleyball games, school programs, plays, and dance performances. They experienced a wonderful trip to Disney with him and the entire family, and they also enjoyed that he spent many hours with them whether it was playing at the park, playing and practicing baseball or basketball, and of course holding them in his hands and gently hand swinging them while gently singing “swingy, swingy, …”. There are also wonderful memories of him holding his great grandchildren lovingly for hours, playing and interacting with them, being at their birthday parties, and celebrating Christmas together.
As many know, it’s always difficult to lose a loved one. That said, Emil’s family is consoled by the fact that he lived a long and happy life touching many people with love and fond memories before passing away at age 90. They all consider themselves blessed in many ways!
Rest in peace, and we all look forward to one day being reunited with you and God in Heaven!
