EMERY WADDELL
Services for Brother Emery Waddell , 74, of Longview will be held 10 AM Friday at the Carraway-Claybar Funeral Home in Huntington, Texas. Burial will follow at 2 PM in the Holland Cemetery near Kountz, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. 6 to 8 PM. Brother Waddell died Wednesday morning at a local medical center.
He was born Oct. 23, 1933 in Village Mills, Texas to Ira Brack and Hester Green Waddell. A former resident of Huntington, he had resided in Longview for three years. For many years, he served as a minister for Missionary Baptist Churches in a number of locations. He was actively involved with the Hiway 80 Rescue Mission in Longview and had directed many jail and prison ministries over the years. He was also retired from Lufkin Industries.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Martin of Crockett; son, Melvin Waddell of Crockett; son and daughter-in-law, James and Kimberly Waddell of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Chad Mueller of Wylie, Texas; grandchildren: Tomas Lee Trevino and wife, Jeana, Michael Jance Trevino, Eric D'Wayne Cook and wife, Jennifer, Emma Waddell, Julie Waddell, and Lilly Waddell; great grandchildren: River James, Ocean Briana, Cameron Lee, Tommy Lee, Ethan and Timothy; brother and sister-in-law, Briant and Sadie Waddell of Henderson; sister-in-law, Ida Waddell of Waxahachie.
