ELSIE RUTH BURKS NICHOLS
Services for Elsie Ruth Burks Nichols , 78, of Longview will be held 2 PM Friday, June 30th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, 1617 Judson Rd. with Rev. Wayne Spanhanks officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmira Cemetery in Spring Hill. Mrs. Nichols died Monday, June 26th in Longview.
She was born December 24, 1927 in Longview to Arch and Birdie Pollick Morrow. A lifelong resident of Gregg County, Mrs. Nichols was a homemaker, a member of the Baptist faith, and worked many years as a supervisor at Honey Togs Manufacturing in Gladewater.
She is survived by: her children and their spouses; David and Pat Burks of Longview, Gerald and Tina Burks of Hallsville, Gloria and Ted Harris of Longview, Linda and Clay Parker of Carthage, Debra Ballard and Larry Castleberry of Longview, and Judy Nichols of Longview; grandchildren, Stacie Estrella, Kevin Harris, Paula Stokesberry, Lisa Tiffin, Phillip Davidson, Leslie Caffey, Kim Lutz, Mandy Burks, Christi Burks, Amy Crawford, and Mack Nichols; 19 great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; brothers and sisters, Billy Morrow of Lone Oak, Archie Morrow of Irving, Ann Fouse of Texarkana, Louise Evans of Marshall and Jimmy Morrow of Huntsville, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Archie R. Burks and Charles Nichols; a son, Randy Nichols and a grandson, Chris Harris along with 7 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Travis Parr, Russell Pollick, Billy Mathis, Wayne Carrell, Jeff Tiffin and Kevin Harris.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Thursday evening 6 to 8 PM.
