A graveside service for Elsie B Lee, 77, of Longview, Texas, will be held on March 16, 2021, at 1:00pm at Eakins Cemetery in Ponder, Texas, with Mr. Gerre Joiner officiating. B passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord on March 13, 2021, in Longview.
Elsie B Lee, known as “B” to family and friends, was born on October 22, 1943, to parents Nix and Elsie Williams in Greenwood, Texas. B grew up in a loving, close-knit family with her parents and 5 brothers and 5 sisters. She had many wonderful memories of growing up in a family with 11 children! As a young girl, B greatly enjoyed school, was a straight A student, and a fantastic basketball player.
In 1978 B and her family moved to Longview, where she got a job with Pine Tree Independent School District. The majority of her career was spent serving as the secretary for Pine Tree Primary School. B was passionate about her job working with the administrators, teachers, and students at the Primary campus. She treasured the life-long friendships she made in Pine Tree ISD. She retired from the school district in May 2016 with 38 years of service.
B was so very proud of her family. She has two daughters who love her dearly, Penny and Angie, sons-in-law Randy and Blake, and grandchildren Colby, Zach, Jacey, Beau, and Ben. She was famous for spoiling her grandchildren who believe she hung the moon. Her slogan has always been “Grandma to the rescue!” and she meant it!
Some of B’s very favorite things were her sweet grandchildren, family gatherings, Christmas time, Coca~Cola, and the Dallas Cowboys. She always enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, exercising, road trips, and doing for others.
B was a Christian with a servant’s heart, a loving mother and grandmother, and a friend to all. She was a light in this world and will be missed by her family more than words can express.
Elsie B Lee is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Penny and Randy Fleet, of Longview; and Angie and Blake Williams, of Frisco; grandchildren: Colby Fleet, Zach Fleet, and Jacey Fleet, of Longview; Beau Williams and Ben Williams, of Frisco; brother Tommy Williams, of Decatur; sisters and brothers-in-law Emma and Joe Hopkins, of Austin; Wanda Nell and John Stephens, of Richardson; sisters-in-law Jean Williams, of Denton; Merrinette Williams, of Burleson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Sonia Lee, of Decatur, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
