Elmer E. "Woody" Woodford's Obituary
Funeral services for Elmer E. Woodford (“Woody”), age 93, of Tyler will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Rader Funeral Home of Henderson. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson. Mr. Woodford passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in Tyler.
Mr. Woodford was born January 20, 1923 in Little Cedar, AR to Delphia Watts Woodford and William Robert Woodford. Woody was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked as a mechanic and boilermaker. He enjoyed fishing, oystering, and shrimping. Woody also enjoyed treasure hunting with his metal detector and/or panning for gold. He was baptized March 12, 1961 at Second Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, TX.
Mr. Woodford is preceded in death by his parents, and wife of 56 years, Bernadine Woodford.
He is survived by his sons, Don Woodford, Joseph Woodford, David Woodford, and Michael Woodford. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
