Funeral services for Elmer Fayne McDowell Brother Mac, 83, of Longview will be held at Two O'clock pm Friday May 23, 2008 at the Greggton First Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. McDowell passed away Tuesday May 20, 2008 in Longview.
He was born May 23, 1924 in Electra, Texas to Richard Fayne and Lois Denson McDowell. He had lived in Longview the past 45 years and was retired Water Plant Supervisor for the City of Longview after 25 years of service, he was Veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Greggton First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was also a graduate of Carlisle High School.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Zella of Longview, children, Fayne McDowell and his wife Nicky of Colorado Springs, CO.; Sharon Kay Autrey and her husband Kenneth of Kilgore, TX.; James David McDowell and his wife Paula of Forney, TX.; sister, Gloria Hamilton and her husband Oscar of Tyler, TX.; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Aunita Davis of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Greggton First Baptist Church
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday May 22, 2008 from 6pm until 8pm.
