Ellis E. "Tip" Tipton
Memorial services for Ellis E. "Tip" Tipton, 77, of East Mountain will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Elder J. D. Johnson officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction Rader Funeral Home.
Mr. Tipton was born July 4, 1933 in Rusk County, TX to William and Mary Lee Tipton. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict followed by 4 years of reserve duty. In 1956, he went to work for Marathon LeTourneau in motor winding department #884 and retired in 1999 as the Night Plant Superintendent. Following retirement from LeTourneau, he was a driver for Enterprise Rental Car for 10 years. Mr. Tipton enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family. He was associated with Jehovah's Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, and 5 sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 54 years, Johnnie Sue Tipton of East Mountain; children, Elaine Fry and husband Rodney of Longview, Becky Moore and husband Steve of Longview, Lisa Frigon and husband John of The Colony, TX, Gary Tipton and wife Sue of McKinney, TX and Eric Tipton and wife Sherry of Longview.
Grandchildren, Jamie Gooch, Jeremy Moore, Lori Montemagno and husband Joe, Troy Moore, Matt Henson and wife Kayla, Jacob Henson, Ryan Henson, Travis Henson and wife Samah, Angela DeLuna and husband George, Justin Foltz, Noah Tipton and Owen Tipton.
Great grandchildren, Tara Gooch, Calvin Gooch, Audrey Moore, Kara Moore, Nolan Henson, Max Henson, Tyler Deluna and Lauren Deluna; and many nieces and nephews.
