Ella Grace Corley Allen's Obituary
Ella Grace Corley Allen passed peacefully into God’s arms on Friday October 27, 2017 at their home surrounded by her earthly and heavenly family. Grace was born in Gilmer, Upshur County Texas on September 15, 1927 to Ruel Hugh Corley, SR and Lily Cagle Corley. She was the seventh of eight children born to that union.
On January 1, 1949 Grace married Clyde Elmo Allen and they had five children born of this union. Grace and Clyde celebrated 64 ½ years of marriage before his death in 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde, son Johnny “Bill” Clyde Allen, grandson Robert Collie Allen, her parents, brothers John, Ruel JR, Henry and infant brother Andrew, sisters Sarah Castloo, Louise Carter and Dorothy Jones Corley.
She is survived by daughters Linda Allen Sumrow, Mary Jo Widemon and her husband Roy, sons Bobby Elmo Allen and his wife Terri, Richard W. Allen, daughter-in-law Robbin Allen; Seven grandchildren Andrew Sumrow and his wife Jeanette, William “Billy” Allen, John Allen and his wife Hollie, Lisa Sagebiel and her husband Roy, Anna Allen, Joshua Allen and his wife Whitney and Rachel Allen; Nine great-grandchildren and another great-grandson due end of this year and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at Rosewood Park, Longview, TX, Monday October 30, 2017 at 2pm. A time of visitation will follow service, place to be announced at the service.
As per Ella’s request there will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association or Cancer Society or charity of choice.
Our family would like to thank Compass Hospice, Pine Tree Home Health, Dr’s Sanjay Reddy, Srinivas Rangu and Jorge Massare for the compassionate care given to mother for the last years of her life. A special thanks to Christina from Compass Hospice and Jackie from Pine Tree Home Health for the extra care and devotion to mother and Rachel from Compass Hospice for her support and care.
She is walking on the streets of gold pain free, finally after years your wish is fulfilled mother.
