Elizabeth Salter Leith
Funeral services for Elizabeth Salter Leith, 82, of Longview will be held at Ten O'clock am Monday July 20, 2009 at the East Mountain Church of Christ with James Winneford officiating. Interment will follow in the Old East Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Leith passed away Friday July 17, 2009 in Longview.
She was born September 10, 1926 in East Mountain to Howard and Nellie Sanders Salter. She was a member of the East Mountain Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Leith worked as a bookkeeper for Federated stores from its opening in Longview until it sold to Dillards. Following that she worked for Gibson's as a bookkeeper and then spent fifteen years working for the City of Longview, retiring from there in2008. She was a member of Ladies Industrial Bowling League for many years.
Mrs. Leith is survived by her sisters, Daisy L. Binford of Longview, Ethelene Leith of Texarkana, and Hazel Wood of Graford, TX. she is also survived by her nieces and nephews who lovingly considered their Aunt Bet a second mother and she is also leaves a host of great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene and her parents, Howard and Nellie Salter, two brothers, Robert and Joel Salter and a sister Gladys Nation
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4pm.
