Elizabeth Porter McComic
Mrs. McComic was born on September 1st, 1918 and left this life to join her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 15th, 2010. She joins her parents Travis G. And Hattie Elizabeth Porter Vanderwater, her stepfather, James Robert Vanderwater, her brother Travis ?Jabo? Porter, and her husband, James Calvin McComic, Jr.
Mrs. McComic is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James C. And Kay McComic of Houston, TX, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Michelle McComic King and husband Billy of Magnolia, TX; Kimberly McComic Hidalgo and husband Nick, their two children Garrett and Carter of Houston, TX; Pastor Christopher McComic and wife Lauren of Ft. Worth, TX. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McComic was a member of First Baptist Church, Longview for twenty-seven years and later attended Chapel services at Colonial Village Retirement Community, upon becoming a resident ten years ago.
There will be a graveside service for Mrs. McComic at Rosewood Park Cemetery and Mausoleum just north of Longview on 1844, near its intersection with Judson Road on Monday, April 19th, 2010 at 10:30 AM, with her grandson, Pastor Chris McComic officiating.
