Mrs. Elizabeth W. Metcalf's Obituary
Elizabeth W. Metcalf was born on November 5, 1924 in Galesburg, Ill to Henry and Marion Wetmore. She passed away on December 25 at her home. She loved painting and drawing and was an avid swimmer most of her life. After graduating from Knox College, she worked as a Graphic Designer for the Chicago Tribune. While living in Chicago, she met her husband Ted. They raised three sons while living in California and Houston. Mrs. Metcalf still has many good friends in Houston where she was active in the local Pi Phi sorority chapter. She was a beloved resident of Buckner Westminster and loved spending time with her many friends there.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Charles T. Metcalf; and her brother, Thomas Weber.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and their wives, Steve and Karen Metcalf of Longview, Jon Metcalf of Austin, and Charles and Patricia Metcalf of Houston; her sister, Margaret Weber of Illinois; her grandchildren Kathryn Daniel, Kyle Metcalf, Rachel Metcalf, Austin Metcalf, and Kevin Metcalf; and her great grandchildren Katelyn Daniel and Carter Daniel.
There will be a memorial service held for family and close friends. Arrangements are with Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Buckner Westminster.
A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
