Mrs. Hunter was born on January 4, 1926 in Hallsville, TX and passed from this life on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Hunter, her son, Robert M. Hunter, and her sister, Patsy Parker Pearce.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Gary and Stacy Hunter, daughter and son-in law, Jerri and Terry Hamilton, and daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Don Lanphear.
She had six loving grandchildren: Bobby and Kellie Hunter of Vicksburg, MS, Brett Hamilton of Longview, Leah Riley of Longview, Henry Hunter of Longview, and Erin Miller of Arlington, TX and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth, or "Liz" as she was called by her friends, was a Cub Scout leader for her two sons and a Blue Bird leader for her two daughters. She was a lifetime member of the PTA, serving as president for many years. She worked for Marathon LeToumeau from 1967-1989. She lived a selfless life in service to her Lord and family and was often referred to as an angel among us. She was a member of the church of Christ, where her beautiful alto voice will long be remembered singing praises to God.
The family wishes to thank the many friends who prayed for her over the years. We also wish to thank the Clairmont Nursing Home staff, especially the nurses and aids in the Traditions Alzheimer's Unit, where Mrs. Hunter lived happily for five years.
